This book brings together Guarani Kaiowá narratives produced in the context of the Mbo’Eroy Guarani Kaiowá Municipal Indigenous School, located in the Amambai Indigenous Territory (Guapoy), as the result of a project supported by Fundo Casa Socioambiental. The work values oral tradition, the knowledge of elders, graphic patterns, drawings, and cultural practices that compose the Guarani Kaiowá way of life. By recording stories such as The Origin of the Mermaid, The Two Partridges, and The Origin of Fire, the publication strengthens Indigenous school education, interculturality, and student protagonism in preserving collective memory. More than “legends,” these narratives are presented as meaningful facts for the community, connected to identity, spirituality, territory, and the transmission of knowledge across generations. Thus, the book contributes to the visibility of Indigenous culture and brings together school, community, and non-Indigenous readers through a sensitive, community-based, and decolonial pedagogical perspective.
